On September 18, 2024, SPN Software staff participates in the Design Thinking course taught by Professor Ricardo Adrian Federico.
Design Thinking is a creative methodology focused on problem solving by focusing on user needs. Originating in the field of industrial design, it has expanded to a variety of industries, including technology, business, and education, as an effective framework for innovation and product or service development. This iterative process combines logic, intuition, and empathy to address complex problems with human-centered solutions.
The Design Thinking process is generally composed of five iterative phases:
Empathize: The goal is to understand the user’s needs, emotions, and behaviors. Data is collected through interviews, observations, and field studies.
Define: Based on the information obtained, the problem or challenge is clearly articulated from the user’s perspective. This stage helps identify a specific need that the team must address.
Ideate: In this phase, teams generate a wide range of ideas without restrictions. Creativity, divergence of opinions, and the generation of innovative ideas are encouraged, often with techniques such as brainstorming.
Prototype: Simplified versions of proposed solutions are created. The goal is to turn abstract ideas into something tangible and testable quickly and cheaply.
Test: The prototype is tested with users to obtain feedback. Learning from this phase is used to refine the solution, which can lead to re-iteration in any of the previous phases.
